SILVER FLAMING DOTS

Primark blouse, H&M skirt and necklace, Asos Marketplace chelsea boots, Stradivarius bag, Unknown bracelet.

So I have finally plucked up the courage to do an outfit post of sorts in the blog. I'm usually much more comfortable being behind the lens since there's less to judge and I can control everything. However, the intention was always for me to challenge myself during the creation and process of this blog, I was never supposed to settle into what made me less scared. This led to the decision that I will do at least an outfit post a week, from now on, so I can keep growing and showing you who I am beyond my words. If you think this is a good idea, let me know in the comment area.

Lately I've become quite obsessed with Chloe Howl and now I cannot stop listening to I Wish I Could Tell You.
Just letting you know in case you're interested. She's amazing. Rumour is another great one.

REVIEWING // LUSH OATIFIX FRESH FACE MASK

Yesterday I woke up at the crack of dawn (8am actually) so I could go to the Westfield Stratford City shopping centre bright and early. I arrived shortly after 9:30am (I did take a shower and whatnot) and was pleased my plan had worked: the place had very few people around. I hate going to shopping centres when they're super full because I dread being constantly pushed and shoved by people, it's practically a phobia, really. But I digress.

I managed to buy a few things in Boots, Primark and Lush, but today I will only be talking about what I got from Lush: the Oatifix Fresh Face Mask. I actually went there with the intention of getting the Brazened Honey one, but after trying both and walking around the store for ages, smelling everything I possibly could, I settled for Oatifix. I didn't notice that much of a difference in terms of quality because how can you tell after 10 seconds, right? The sweet, pungent smell of the mask was the thing that did it for me. I loved the sugary odour and simply cannot stop smelling it.

According to the label, my pot of mask had been made the previous day, which pleased me a lot. The main ingredient, and the source of the name, is oatmeal, which also gives the thick consistency to the mask. I love this because sometimes you get very liquid masks and they're tough to apply since they keep running down your face. Not good, I tell ya. Besides the great density of the mask, the ingredients really seem to come together to moisturise your face as much as possible and your skin is left feeling smooth and smelling super sweet. You'll be sniffing yourself all day, if you're anything like me.

This mask doesn't dry like those face packs you usually see around, this one needs to be really spread out and I know some people actually add a bit of water. The pot tells you to spread a generous quantity of the mixture, but I feel like the pot is too small for me to be spreading it like there's no tomorrow. After all, there's only 75g of that stuff and I ain't no waster.

I would recommend this product and I will also be trying other things from the brand, as their store is just too good to stay away. I also loved how nice and helpful the assistant who talked to me was, so I'd like to go back to that specific store.

Have you guys every tried this mask or any other mask by Lush? How was your experience? I'd love to know!

REVIEWING // REAL TECHNIQUES CORE COLLECTION KIT

You asked, I deliver. Here commences the review of the Real Techniques Core Collection Kit that I bought quite recently and have been eager to talk about to anyone who will hear me, or, in this case, read me. I bought my kit via Feel Unique and I would advise you to do the same, instead of resorting to Boots. Why? For two reasons: firstly, Feel Unique doesn't charge for the shipping; secondly, the product's price in Boots in higher. It's only one pound difference, but once you start adding up those little pennies and pounds, it does stack up pretty high, in the end.

Contour brush // I must confess my experience using this one is still quite limited but I can already tell you that, for someone who has never contoured in her life, using this brush has been quite a help. In the past, whenever I did some contouring, I ended up feeling like a clown because I hardly knew how to do it. However, somehow, after watching a couple of youtube videos where people showed how to use this particular brush, it all became much easier and smoother.

Buffing brush // Until I purchased this kit, I had been applying my powders with a Sephora Professionel Kabuki Brush. This suited me fine, but wasn't spectacular since this particular brush has quite a big head and I found it less than brilliant for the harder-to-reach areas. Much like the foundation brush on this set, the best part of this tool was being able to cover every inch of my face without going to that much effort.

Foundation Brush // For me, this baby was one of my most feared pieces of the kit. Mainly because I had never applied foundation with a brush because I was convinced that half my product would be absorbed by the brush itself even before it reached my skin. Even though the brush does soak up a bit of foundation, it doesn't do that as much as I expected. I enjoyed using this brush, but personally I still prefer to apply the foundation first with my fingers and then use the brush to perfect the finish. But like Lisa Eldridge says in her videos, there's no wrong way to apply your foundation - it completely depends on each person's preference and taste.

Detailer brush // Loved, loved, loved this brush. I am one of those barely heard-of people who have yet to truly invest in eye make-up, which means that, until now, I never really bothered with getting brushes for the eye area since my cheap eye-shadows came with those small applicators. Horrible, I know. I am ashamed to confess this to you, but one must profess one's fashion and beauty sins before asking for redemption. This brush, however, was a complete revelation because it made eye-shadow application so much easier and less messy. I am a true convert and will never go back. In fact, I am already thinking of getting the MAC 217 that everyone and their grandma is talking about on Youtube.

What has your experience been like with this collection? Also, I'd love to get some feedback so let me know if you'd like me to do reviews more often and follow me if you liked this one!
